- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/5 teaspoon carom seeds
- salt as required
- 1/2 cup peas
- Paneer (optional)
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoon ghee
- 4 boiled potato
- 2 green chili
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dry mango powder
- Cold water
Steps for making Samosa-
To prepare the dough-
take a bowl and put all-purpose flour and cumin seeds, salt, carrom seeds according to your taste. Then, pour ghee ( ¼ cup) and start kneading with your hand because with hands it is kneed properly, It’s texture should look like bread crumbs. Now, by adding little amount of cold water knead in that way that the dough becomes tight (water around a half cup). Cover your prepared dough with a muslin cloth and keep it aside for around half an hour.
To prepare the stuffing for samosa-
Mash 4 potatoes place in a bowl.
Take a pan put it on medium flame pour 1 tablespoon of oil. When it starts heating, put cumin seeds and once the seeds start changing color into brown, then immediately add ginger, green chili, and salt according to your taste, coriander leaves. Now add Peas and mashed potatoes.
add all spices- coriander powder, dry mango powder, garam masala, and red chili powder. Keep stirring the mixture. With the help of a masher, mash the entire mixture together.
You can add dry fruits to it,(Cashew nut, raisins) it is optional to allow it to cool.
After half an hour roll out some small-sized balls from the prepared dough. Use your palm of the hands to flatten the dough ball and then use a rolling pin by putting oil on it. Give it a round shape and cut it in half with a knife to form 2 semi-circles. After that, use water and apply to the corner of the semi-circle, so that both the ends stick each other and form a cone-like shape.
Now. Use the filling to stuff it with the prepared mixture. Seal the ends by putting water on the edges and by pressing them lightly with your fingers. make sure it sticks properly otherwise while frying it will open. Then, heat oil in a pan (make sure oil is heating at a low flame, otherwise it will be brown from outside and raw from inside) then, fry the prepared samosas. fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy. Serve them hot with either pudhina- dhaniya chutney or tamarind chutney depending upon your choice.
Enjoy them with tea while sitting in the balcony watching the view.
Make sure to make samosa for next time you have any party at your house and surprise your guests with this tasty form of snack!
